Pont du Gard/ 2000년 역사에 빛나는 용수로 퐁듀갈

Pont du Gard!  One of the best places to visit in France http://www.lonelyplanet.com/france, is located about 30min drive from Montpellier.  It's an ancient ( about 2000 years old!) Roman aqueduct bridge that was added to UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in 1985.  It's very impressive structure to look at!  Imagine! It's built 2000 years ago and still stands strongly.  According to the Wiki, "After the collapse of the Roman Empire and the aqueduct's fall into disuse, the Pont du Gard remained largely intact due to the importance of its secondary function as a toll bridge. For centuries the local lords and bishops were responsible for its upkeep in exchange for the right to levy tolls on travellers using it to cross the river.."  Yesterday, my hiking group decided to go hiking around Pont du Gard.  It was a beautiful perfect day for hiking - around 65f, no wind, sunny…. 

퐁듀갈은 로마사람들이 이천년전에 지은 용수로 입니다.  영어로는 aqueduct 한국말로는 용수로.. 물을 이동시키는 다리인데요 울 집에서 30분정도 차로 가면 있는 프랑스여행에 꼭 봐야하는 곳중에 하나입니다.  매주 일요일마다 여행가지 않을때 꼭 울 신랑이랑 등산같이하는 클럽인데요 울 프랑스 아저씨 데이비드가 이끄는.. 우린 뭐 점심 간식 싸서 쭐레쭐레 데이비드만 따라다니면서 즐기기만하면 된다는… 여기는 벌써 17도에 습기 없고 공기 좋고 날씨 예술에 뭐 한국 미세먼지 공포에 비하면 여긴 거의 천국이에요.  사진 보시면서 즐기시길….

Awesome view! super clean water.. From the top of the bridge, you can see all the fishes swimming in the river!  정말 예술이심. 정말 물도 너무 맑아서 생선들 수영하는게 다리위에서 다보일정도로..

 

Keewi and Ben! and lunch break! we found a nice spot for lunch.  나랑 울 신랑이랑.  점심도 그늘지고 다리도 보이는 아주 괜찮은곳에서…

 

 

Around the bridge, there are still lots of ruins of the aqueduct. We, hiking group, walked around the PDG about 15km.  다리주변에 여전히 남아있는 용수로 흔적들 근데 예뻐….

 

 

 

A little village near the Pont du Gard, Vers Pont Du Gard.  Vers means toward in English :)  It was very small cute village. There are 3 very well maintained public laundry house in the village. 아주 작은 퐁듀갈 옆에 있는 마을. 마을 이름도 "퐁듀갈로 가는 길 마을"  ㅋㅋㅋ

On the way back to the car, we saw so many people around and on the bridge, enjoying the weather and the view.  We'd like to come back for a picnic someday with our friends!

차로 돌아오는길에 보니까 할아버지 할머니랑 손주들 줄줄이 있는 가족 나들이온분들이 아주 많았던 곳인데요 담에 울 친구들이랑 소풍오면 딱이겠다고 생각하고 돌아왔읍니다.  지금 다리 삭신이 음청 쑤셔서 오늘 하루는 아무것도 않하고 집에서 뒹굴러야겠다고 다짐하면서…
